then compare them to older pictures

I talked with my mom about it and she claims I always had a hairline like this, and she also has it similair (but i do have it more extreme) The hair in the middle is still fine. So it might just be my natural hairline?

The temples do look a little thin, keep an eye on it, just in case it gets worse. My hair was like that since I could remember, it started to get worse when I was 23, so I started treatment before it got beyond repair, for lack of a better word.

The key is to take photos, like I said before, keep an eye it.

When I keep making photos of it and stuff i get kindoff obsessed with it and then i get freaked out etc. I can't help it, its just how it goes so I rather dont focus to much on it if there isnt really need to right now. Bt what kind of treatment did you get?

Really you may have always had hair like that no one knows but you. If anyone can tell its you since you have lived your life with the hair so take pictures and see if it gets worse. Go see derm if you worried.

so it could just be my natural hairline? I never really paid alot of attention to it because i always had long hair but my niece came over today and she had a ponytail and i saw she had it similair to me (again: me a LITTLE more extreme but still, it might just be a gene thing?)

you won't know. not til it's too late. i know a lot of my female friends seem to have 'receding hairlines' - only they don't progress from that. me, i'd lean towards that you're losing it. looks like a v. similar progression to my own actually - i was probably at pretty much the same stage as you at your age - a bit further even. i jumped on nizoral and finasteride at 18, am 21 on january the 8th. have never regretted taking steps towards peace of mind. i'd recommend stick it out til 18 and then get on finasteride. til then, nizoral.

do you have a real itchy scalp ever? that seems to be a good indicator of hairloss.

What is/are finasteride and nizoral?

But no, my scalp isnt particulary more ichy then it was ever before. I wear a hoodie alot (almost everyday, entire schoolday) and I find alot of hairs in it. Like 30/40 or something? And more when I wash my hear in the shower. But heres a photo of my mom hairline, can it just be a natural hairline gene thing? My niece has is more similair but I dont want to put a photo of her on here you might understand.
mom.jpg btw, one of the reason losing hair is such a horror to me is because i have a weird skull: i have a weird very noticible without hair bump on the back of my head so i can't go with the shaved look...

finasteride and nizoral - finasteride is a pill you take once a day and is there to maintain hair and often regrows a bit too. nizoral is an anti inflammatory shampoo used once every two or three days which helps with itching, dandruff and oiliness. they are two parts of the 'big 3' of hairloss - the third part is minoxidil, brand name is rogaine, which is a growth stimulant used twice a day by rubbing it into your scalp.

me brother, i still say male pattern baldness. i remember feeling like you did before i came to terms with it. at least i'd say take photos of your scalp in real harsh light once every few months, check back in 6 or 7 months time. if you're stable then ignore it.
good luck,
f

It is definitely male pattern baldness, 100 % sure of it. Exactly how mine looked when it started with the sides becoming thinner and brighter in color and then the corners started to recede.

But what gives it away the most is your sides receding and losing their pigment/color. I could show you a picture of how my hair looked 3 years ago when I had the same length as you and it would look identical.

Well i'm not sure if they're receding, i never paid any attention to it, it could always have been like this. And is the pigment really that different? i think it's mroe of the fact that theres jsut less hair which makes it seem lighter? You ca't be 100% sure... I actually would like to see a picture if thats okay?

Regarding the pill: Are there any possibly side-effects? And where can i get it? Do they only sell it in america? (I live in europe)And
what kind of angle should i toke those photo's? like 1 a week? pulling the hair back alot like i did in these pics? God i hate this, balding always been one of my worst fears :(

o wow I brought it up to my mom again (and my dad was there to) because i wanted to talk about getting some of that stuff and she got REALLY mad at me. Saying she knows for a fact i always had a hairline like this and that im acting like a anorexic girl does with her weight. That I shouldn't worry about it, and if i do, i'm a paranoia idiot basicly. Strangely enough, this comforted me because now i know she isnt just trying to comfort me when she said that she didnt see nay change or anything. So i guess if I dont want to get sucked up into being obsessed by this it be better if i don't come back..

But before all that i made some pictures, mostly to get a look at the crown situation but that seems to be fine right? I will be seeing reaction to this but I don't think I'll be staying for long, driving myself nuts here. haar2.jpg

I know it sucks but trust me when I say this: your hair has started to recede and the sooner you do something about it (finasteride, minoxidil,) the longer you can keep the hair you have. I will try to find a picture of how my hair looked when it started and upload it later. Its identical.

looks like early male pattern baldness.

your moms response to it is ridiculous. ask her how shed feel if she started losing her hair. getting abuse from family can only make any negative feelings one experiences due to hair loss worse.

I won't get finasteride mainly because i dont want to risk the side-effects for something that isn't noticble at this stage, if it even is a stage ofcourse. I don't think its a smart idea to take it now that im 17 and still growing (i was late in puberty) and all that stuff anyway. I don't think i really need the shampoo seing as I don't experience alot of itching, dandruff or oiliness. So basicly: even if there's something happening: worrying about it is pretty useless and right now unnescesary also because its not noticable when i wear my hair like a normal do right? Might as well try to not think about it and enjoy the fact that it's still fine now. I'm not planning to take montly pictures but when its obvious and clear that is recessing i come back, let's just hope that will take alot of years. Theres a big change it's just my natural hairline anyway now that i know my mom isnt lying when she says she knows for a fact that my hair always been like that, plus that my niece also has a very far back hairline. But @Abercrombie, just for closer i still would like to see if its truly is identical.

look dude, STOP WORRYING ABOUT IT, but still take monthly pictures because a llot of the time it starts its unnoticeable UNLESS you compare it to the past

just take the monthlly picture, and other than stop, STOP FREAKING THINKING ABOUT IT, ITS UNFREAKINGNOTICEABLE
