Hi all, just about to finish my first month on the ‘big 3’ and knowing that it won’t take any immediate overnight sensation, I can live with that for know. However, there is an issue that is concerning me and I’m wondering whether I need to do something to address this?

Right...getting up to a month now and I'll get some pics of Month 1 in the next few days up here. Hair has definitely shed, I'm applying the mino once a night 2 hours before bed time and using the nizoral 2-3 times per week but going down to twice per week this week onwards, however parts of my head are really itchy and irratated and I know full well I'm scratching hell out of my head in my sleep and has drawn a couple of small cuts on my scalp....I'm also unsure as to whether this could negate any good work from the regime and whether its making any shedding (which seems to be happening on a subtle scale even worse) as in am I ripping out more hair?!

Thought it’d pass as I got used to it but still having problems with the itchy head and tearing the head off myself at points during the night, I'm doing it now though and it's pulling a couple of hairs out at a time along with the nanofibres I'm wearing during the daytime....should I stick it out.....?

The Nizoral should be illiminating the itch. Make sure it isn't aggravating your scalp. You should really be on finasteride , unless you are getting side effects.

Finasteride would calm the itching aswell. Minoxidil does not slow hair loss only finasteride does. I believe in all cases that should be used together and to never use minoxidil on it's own ,seems pointless to me unless you are getting side effects.

Also omega 3 and tea tree oil are meant to help with the itching. Tea tree conditioner is great and is very handy to counter-act the drying effects of the Nizoral.

Hi there, thanks for your help.... to be honest with you I'm already on Propecia, plus I also use Nizoral and also take Omega 3-6-9 too. It just seems pretty weird to me and I'm just not sure where to go with it....I can ride it out if it's for a bit but I'm just wondering if it'd always be like this...!?

I had a similar problem but for me it was my legs and chest,
intense itching where I would wake up in the middle of the night
scratching. It went away after a month or so. I attributed it
to the body hair reacting to the finasteride. You may just need to
ride it out or maybe even reduce the finasteride dosage for a short period.

Thanks...I thought that myself, was trying to put a positive spin on it really! ;)

I'll ride it out for another couple of weeks and see where it goes from there.
