Do I need something stronger than minoxidil 5%?

I have been on Propecia for 8 months, and 5% minoxidil for about 1 month, and since I see limited to zero regrowth I think im going to go ahead and try to get a stronger % minoxidil.

Here are some pictures to help determine if I should be using it or not. I do not see any improvement at all, mostly because in the baseline picture I was not combing over my hair to the right, and in the newer picture I am.

The LEFT picture is recent from may 2010 8 months on propecia 1 month min, the RIGHT picture is baseline from august 2009.

So with that being said, should I switch to something stronger than 5%, and if so what?

Be patient.
One month's use will not let you gauge the effectiveness of 5% min at all!

Definitely give it at least six months. You'll see max results after 1 year approximately, at that particular concentration.

And... actually, that looks pretty encouraging just for one month on minoxidil.

The captions may be small and difficult to read, but actually the right picture is a baseline from august 2009 and the left picture is from may 2010, so 8 months on propecia and 1 month on minoxidil. Notice how their is zero improvement?

Patience is needed , one can hardly see the result on minoxidil in one month, I saw my first result on minoxidil after 3 months, at the beginning my hair was getting worse before I saw some regrow. Give it more time!! :)

Though some people experience regrowth from finasteride, its primary purpose is to maintain what you have. That's why it's so recommended to use both finasteride and minoxidil, since one will stabilize hair loss and the other will possibly provide regrowth.

I think you should consider adding nizoral shampoo to your regimen.

Most individuals do not see significant growth with Minoxidil till about 12 weeks.

At the one month mark you would just start to see the beginning.

finasteride is mainly to keep what you have though it does allow your hair to grow in a less harsh immune response inflammatory environment. This does not alway lead to thicker fuller hair for some.
