do I have an accurate read on the availability dates and effectiveness-es of options?

Hi guys :)

I'm on the verge of committing to finasteride/minoxidil, but just want to make sure that my read on the situation when it comes to treatments is correct

histogen/replicell/cb-03-01: these look promising in their own way, but realistically speaking seem to be at -least- 4-5 years away, right? do you think they'll be able to regrow hair from like a NW6, or just maintain what you have by then?

transplants: am I correct in saying that it seems best to wait until your hair loss has stabilised before you do a transplant? and also that they're not a magic bullet - ie if you're a NW7 you wont be able to get back to a NW1 or something just because you don't have enough hair left to move around?

and finally, when it comes to finasteride/minoxidil: do these treatments only work in maintaining/regrowing hair on the crown area? or also on the temple. is there a version of minoxidil that people prefer?

I'm currently 23 years old, I think a NW3, and I think I'm gonna go ahead and get onto finasteride/minoxidil if I have an accurate read on the situation. I'm just waiting for a girl I'm seeing to return from holiday in December/January so that I can have some final 'fun' with her (incase finasteride screws up my erections forever). although I guess there's no harm in starting minoxidil in the meantime, right?

thanks a lot in advance for any help. :) I've lurked this forum for a year now and it's been invaluable as a source of info!!

You might as well start now because if finasteride does ruin your erections then you will need to quit anyway. Chances are, it wont.

Start low, and work your way up with the doses.

thanks for the reply. I'm more worried about those rare cases of permanent sides that I read about here and there - guys who quit finasteride but still haven't recovered sexually. so if that happens I'd like to have gone out on a bang (gettit)

re: doses - I guess the lowest reasonable dose would be 0.5mg every mon/weds/fri? and then work up by increasing the dose to 1mg and increasing the frequency?
