Do I have a chance of temple regrowth/thickening?

I just started finasteride 1mg and nothing else for now. Maybe I can add rogaine in the future when I have more money to spend.
I'm only 21. I read somewhere that the younger you are, the better the chance for regrowth on Propecia. Or it has a good chance of regrowing hair lost in the past five years. I guess I'm at NW3, though I wish I could say I am NW2. There are still some small miniaturized hairs in my temple areas though they are kind of hard to see with this scrappy webcam. Could those thicken?

Yes but you have to do a lot more than just take a drug and hope for the best - when it comes to healing from anything, you need to keep researching and do all it takes. Expecting 1 or two things to cure something is not really wise if you ask me. And im not saying buy more products for it, but how is your overall health? do you smoke? what are your internal stress conditions?

I joined the forum because its so frustrating to see people thinking taking a pill can do wonders for their hair when you really have to go all out and do everything possible.

I have generalized anxiety disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder so my stress level is constantly high. But I'm not sure that stress actually has anything to do with male pattern baldness. The only way it could do that is by increasing DHT on the scalp. How would it do that?

Stress can cause telogen effluvium, "shock loss" which can jumpstart male pattern baldness

Yes but telogen effluvium usually starts with a single shocking stressful event. If I had Telogen Effluvium...I would know...I would have weird bald patches on the back of my head. My stress has been constant for years, a constant free-floating anxiety. So I imagine my cortisol levels at least are always very high.

I contemplated propecia many times but worried about losing my labido. I know everyone is different.
Any bad experiences?

I thought I felt that I had a harder time...getting aroused once I started taking it (which wasn't even two weeks ago actually) but I think I was imagining it.

male pattern baldness is not the same as say having high blood pressure or other medical conditions. Your probably not going to regrow temples or much if anything. Keeping what you have is considered a success that is just how the androgen road works you need to prevent it because regrowing just doesnt happen

None of it matters that pill is going to do wonders for your hair that nothing else you name can come close to doing. I know many men that smoke with very good hair and they have stresses and poor health. male pattern baldness just doesnt work like many other conditions or diseases where its exercise or diet related. Its not that kind of thing just look around you and observe.

My temples hadn't fully receeded, but they did get considerably thinner. I've had very good thickening of my temples, in fact my temples recovered better than my crown. You can see in my profile photo's, quite a difference...

How long on finasteride did it take for you to get those kind of results?

between 2 and 2 and a half months. My crown is responding much slower though, I think my crown is improving a bit too though...

I just realised I only had before pics on my profile! Posted before and after now so you can see my 2 and a half months results. They're pretty good at the temples

Again, it thickened out my temples alot, but I'm not sure if it actually brought my hairline forward at all. I didn't have much recession, just thinning.

I had considerable regrowth on the lower part of my temples (ridges above the sideburns) and managed to maintain on upper temples. Started minoxidil and finasteride at the same time so cant say which was responsible

Allright , As all of us know , the temple would be the most difficult part,I have seen you're pics and Since I have search a lot about it , here is my suggestion about my own experience and what I have read , ( I can't say it will be work for you ) : If you don't want to use finasteride orally because of side you can use topical finasteride which I have seen some improvement for a weblog of a guy and also I have read that spironolactone can be one of the good choice for temples and also hairline . You can also decrease the dosage of you're finasteride and still using that.
BTW , Now I'm using Lipogaine which is the advance minoxidil , I see some regrowth on my temples but its not enough to judge about it , So I need more time to
give you the update , So If you wanna start using minoxidil I would recommend you to make a topical finasteride to get better result. If you want I can send you some links about it.
