do hair systems destroy existing hair?

i planing to get a hair system and i only have little bit of a receding hairline and I'm asking will destroy my existing hair ?

I have been wearing a few years now and I regularly have to shave my scalp as my head grows. I havent noticed any hair destroyed in that time.
