I do! I believe they have something good coming. Unlike most people here I'm excited for them and Histogen.

Well since it's most likely that they will go with minoxidil, what do you think, nameless?

Chuckle... Founded in 2005 and end up with some wounding + minoxidil lol. Well as long as it brings them money.

Minoxidil is the real winner here.

Nobody knows that one of the compounds include Minoxidil. It's just an assumption without any source. Do you really think they are working many years and spend millions of dollars to come up with some wounding and minoxidil?.... seriously?

I think it's minoxidil and other chemicals, it will work magic for some and very little for others. But my answer is yes will come to the market

It has to be minoxidil. It's a commercialized version of the Indian DR study I'm guessing. Although that won't be clear until we know the type of wounding they're doing.

After putting together some of the sharpest minds in Androgenetic Alopecia, experts in drug delivery this is what we get. ;)

Edit: I think a topical finasteride formulation may also be part of the cocktail. My guess is, this is probably the beginning, and more topical will be added to the mix as research progresses. Estrogen, pge2, seti, SM...who knows.

I am doing minoxidil for almost 2 months and see great results so far..Im hoping it continues to increase next few months.

IF this is just wounding and minoxidil---what is the difference then with just derma rolling?

I read someone here had great results doing minoxidil 6 days and derma rolling 1 day a week.

I think of trying this but dont want to 'harm' myself i dont know enough about it yet.

Is there any reason to hold out hope that Follica might produce a decent treatment soon?

They're aiming for a 2018 commercial release... so a little over a year from now.

Yes I do think that seriously. Why wouldn't they if they make an evaluation and conclude it will yield them a positive %ROI?

They can go for 501K approval.

Profit is what counts.

It's a fantastic idea actually business wise if you market it well, don't you think? And... Doesn't their website scream marketing to you? To me it does.

Soon you'll buy your own overpriced package. Which will include a cool applicator at home, coupled with a fancy minoxidil solution and a visit to the physician.

Don't forget the cool mobile phone app that will fit seamlessly into your lifestyle! Plus you'll be able to automatically re-order supplies from that mobile phone app.

"it can make treating hair loss feel less like a chore, and more like part of your regular grooming regimen."

That being said minoxidil is still a very good compound these days if you react well, and coupled with wounding it will be more effective overall.

I understand what you mean. Maybe something like minoxidil is included but if it really works (creating new hair follicles) I don't have any problem to use their mix of compounds to maintain the new growing hair. The question is not if it works or not... The question is how much density we will get. minoxidil tries to regrowth hairs from weak follicles but here we are talking about new follicles. Anyway... it would be really sad if the well known Cotsarelis has nothing more to offer than a minoxidil 2.0...

Of course its some kind of marketing but if they really wanted to have everyones attention, why don't they talk to the press? Maybe its a perfect strategy or they are more than confident...

Regardless their marketing approach... What is your opinion concerning the effiency. Do you believe that it could be possinle to get a full head of hair with these novo follicles?

Makes a lot of sense, but still I think there will other chemicals with minoxidil

It's all speculation until they say what it is. I'd be personally offended if this is just goddamn minoxidil XD (I don't think it is).

I don't know. Follica is so quiet. I did read your other post about how they could use minoxidil w/wounding and fancy marketing to get sales. And smart marketing could do that. And minoxidil is not a bad product for some people. It would not surprise me one bit if this turns out to be the case. But then it makes me wonder why they wouldn't simply release it NOW if all they have is minoxidil + wounding.

Minoxidil + wounding is already legal so they wouldn't need to wait until 2018 to release it. I understand that they could be running more studies with it to get more positive data but it does seem like if it was just minoxidil + wounding they've already had ample time to complete that testing. Perhaps they've altered the minoxidil in some way, or added some agent along with the minoxidil to the mix. I think you're right that minoxidil is at least part of the treatment.

I already tried minoxidil plus dermarolling and it didn't help me so if all Follica has is minoxidil + wounding I'll have to wait for Tsuji.

I do believe that if all Follica has is wounding + minoxidil it will likely be a optimal form of wounding so I would expect that Follica's treatment might be beneficial to a good number of people, especially those with early hair loss.

Do you think the guys who are derma rolling are wounding in a way that they are creating new follicles?

I know some are doing it deeper and more vigorously then others.

Some to bleeding (not advocating this to anyone just curious)

Keep in mind that if follica doesn't work or just using minoxidil as its compound, it doesn't mean that wounding doesn't work. Seeing that you can adjust the number of follicles with solutions like emu oil means that the potential for wound induced hair growth will likely not have reached its full potential with follica.
