Of course, that isn't what he said. And the article was irresponsible to "seed" the initial paragraphs with that extremely wrong implication.

Here is what he said. Extremely different:

Once cancer is present... Radiation therapy and many chemotherapies kill cancer cells by generating oxygen radicals, which trigger cell suicide. If a cancer patient is binging on berries and other antioxidants, it can actually keep therapies from working, Watson proposed. "Everyone thought antioxidants were great," he said. "But I'm saying they can prevent us from killing cancer cells."


Simple solution: Dont OD on antioxidants while on Chemotherapy.

Well..actually that is what he(also) said: "The time has come to seriously ask whether antioxidant use much more likely causes than prevents cancer."



I'd like to see comparisons of those who take "anti-oxidants" only..and those who take 'em and exercise regularly..aren't exposed to chemicals..on and on. Oh..and those genes :woot:
