Diffuse Thinning and Finasteride

So I have a couple questions.

When does finasteride start working. I know it depends on individuals, but does it start from the moment you start it? So if it works for me, ill keep what I have on my head right now?

Also, being a diffuse thinner, I come across some questions as well.

Is diffuse thinning easier or harder to treat?

I get too many contradicting answers. If someone can link sources it would be nice. Thanks

It does start working the moment you first take it. Obviously you need to keep taking it consistently to maintain the effect.

If it works for you you will keep what you have right now and possibly regrow a bit (finasteride is really for maintaining though, minoxidil is for regrowth).

Diffuse thinning....they say treatments work better for diffuse thinning because treatments can't really grow back areas that are slick bald, but just strengthen hairs that are already there. If you have diffuse thinning with no receding hairline, that's good.

Basically all you can do is hop on finasteride and reevaluate in 6 months to a year. I've been on finasteride for six months now, and I tried not to obsess too much about it. I just took it and let the days pass without obsessing about it. Also don't worry if your hair gets worse at first, that's good. Shedding is a good thing.

Listen to this man. I think generally diffuse thinners see more regrowth but I think its easier to notice receeding and they have more of a warning.IMO They are also better candidates for hair transplant. i rarely see receeders recover lost ground on finasteride outside of trans regimens and hair transplants.

I'm a diffuser and I didn't notice my hairloss until my crown was more or less slick bald. (I was in major denial). I'm pretty pleased with a bit of regrowth and thickening though (~10 months)

Get on finasteride, take photos and reevaluate every few months. Be patient.
