Hello folks,

New to the board and am gratefull I found it. Seems like a good source. I'm 25 years old and am starting to see the top/front of my head progressively get thinner. It isn't to the point where it is that noticeable, but I would like to prevent it from getting any worse.

I started using Rogaine foam a month ago. Not sure if I like it, though I'm aware it will take longer to see results. However, I don't know if it's going to be effective. It seems to get absorbed by my hair before it reaches the scalp. Has anybody else, experienced this and if so, does it still work?

I've only been on Nizoral for about a week. Read that it could help prevent hair loss. At the very least it'll be good for dandruff as I do have mild dandruff time to time and my hair can get oily.

The missing piece to my regimine is a DHT bloker. I'm considering Propecia, but am weary of the side effects and price. If anybody could suggest alternatives that would be appreciated. Any advice on alternatives such as Revivogen and Avodart would be appreciated.

Thanks guys. Best of luck in your own battles. Hoping to become a sucess story and to contribute some of my own advice and experiences in the future.

Cheers!

Hey man...i am 25 also, been thinning since i was 18. i used all natural pills for a while, and while they have no sides, they dont work as well as the Big 3 (Finasteride, Nizoral, Minoxidil). I have been on the big 3 for 7 months, and while i have not had regrowth, i have not gotten any worse.

You can find Finasteride very cheap online. I bought one package of Fincar online, and it has lasted me about a year and I think it only cost about 100 bucks. It did kind of look sketchy when I received it, and it came from China, but hey, I am alive and my hair has maintained for 7 months! i experienced side affects for about a month (aching balls, brain fog, weak erections) but then they went away after about a month after my body adjusted. try it out for a month or so, if you dont like it, you can always stop.

buy generic propecia here
www.hair2go.com

you can buy Proscar or Fincar here and cut it into 4 or 5 pieces

and i strongly recommend buzzing your head (unless you have an oddly shaped head). it was the best thing i ever did. a buzzed head and rogaine foam is very easy to manage. if not, you can use Toppik to cover up that bald spot. i used it for a few years and it worked great, but it gets costly and can be a little messy...very manageable though, especially if your baldness isnt too bad.

it's good to read up on finasteride.

Fincepia = Generic 1mg Propecia
Fincar = Generic 5mg Proscar

If you want to stay with generic due to the the cheaper price, go with Fincar. If you want the Mereck stuff (as in made by that company) go with Proscar. Proscar is the same as the 1mg stuff, only that it comes in 5mg for the same price. Meaning you can split it into 1/4ths or 1/5ths and last you longer.

Just to echo what Anthony said: Finasteride is the anti-DHT weapon of choice for new entrants to this wonderful game we play, available in a range of forms to suit all tastes - see previous post. Leave Avodart to the hardened pros.

I second proscar, cause its cheap and effective. Don't be scared of sides, if you decide to stop using proscar the sides will also stop. Don't wait, your hair follicles are under attack.

Norsk, I know you claim that finasteride killed your sex drive. How old are you and how long did you take the pill with the side effect? I'm just curious. I don't want to take it for 5 months if I have sides then they never go away.

But I don't see how it did it, seeing as it has a half life of whatever.... even if it is in your system for a month, you have stated that you are off it for 8 months. Odd.
