I'm 21 years old and have been experiencing diffuse hair loss over the past 10 months, normally between 30-40 hairs a day. Recently over the past 2-3 months, the hair that is falling out seems to be miniaturised and I've also been losing some chest hair and some from my armpits. I live a relatively healthy lifestyle, eat well, do a moderate amount of exercise, I also smoke. There is a history of balding on my dads side of the family, but everyone on my mums side still has a full head of hair. since the hair loss started I've become quite anxious and introverted I've been to the doctors multiple times to talk to them about it and they keep telling me that its tellogen effluvium, however although i was losing tellogen hairs at the start the majority of the hairs that fall out now don't have any white bulb. My finger nails are also have a weird crumbly consistency, which started a couple months before my hair loss however im not sure if this is potentially related to my hair or a fungal infection. Im at a loss of what to do at the moment, I would really like to find out whats wrong with me but cant afford to go to a dermatologist and the doctors ive seen dont think my hair loss is severe enough to let me see through a dermatologist through the NHS. Any ideas?

sounds like you have heavy metal over load - at least get a hair analysis check for it and for minerals lacking - especially zinc
