hi guys

this is my situation.. i hope u guys can help me out

there has been no change in my hairline..
ive been diffuse thinning (mostly from the front to middle) since i was 16 (now im 20)...

i was suffering from chronic dandruff and greying too... some docs prescribed
minoxidil and propercia.. is it useful for my situation?

a derm and a tricologist told me i have fungal infection and its not male pattern baldness..

so for the past 2 weeks ive been using nizoral and nutritional therapy (biotin, multivitamins + iron, zinc..etc).. the dandruff seems to be gone.. however
i think the infection is present

the thinning is bad.. sometimes even places above the ear and above my neck seem to be thin..

is there anything i can do? any chance of regrowth? pls help!

Are you sure it isn't male pattern baldness. I am thinning too and the pattern looks simillar to yours, though I still have a little more hair on top.

Scarring Alopecia
Hair loss due to scarring of the scalp is called scarring alopecia. Scarring can be due to a variety of causes. Traction alopecia over a period of time may lead to scarring and permanent hair loss. Trichotillomania (compulsive hair-plucking) can cause permanent scalp scarring over time. See Could I Be the Cause of My own Bald Spot? for more information.

Injury to the scalp caused by physical trauma or burns may leave permanent scars and permanent hair loss. Diseases that may cause permanent hair loss due to scalp scarring include (1) the autoimmune conditions lupus erythematosus and scleroderma, and (2) bacterial infections such as folliculitis, fungal infections, and viral infections such as shingles (herpes zoster).

Hate to break it to you, but it may be permanent. Btw, I'm also experiencing diffuse thinning and finasteride and minoxidil do not seem to help much, what were you prescribed to stop this fungal infection?

do keep us updated please,

did the Derm or tricologist provide any backing up on their claim of it being a fungal infection?
