Did I Make The Right Decision About Quitting Propecia?

After deliberating pros and cons of using propecia and doing extensive research on its side effects I decided to give proepecia a try. I went to the doctor and he readily wrote me a prescription without much hassle or even a warning about its possible side effects which i thought was strange.

Anyways, so I used it just for 2 days, and in those two days i felt some mild tingling sensation in my penis and less than normal erection along with slight loss of libido. This kinda freaked me out and I immediately stopped using it.

I am not entirely certain if my body response to propecia was more psychological or physiological but I felt it wasnt worth the risk.

Was it right in my decision to quit propecia only after 2 days of use or was it a knee jerk reaction and i should have given it a longer run?

Did you take 1mg finasteride? And yes your body needs to adapt to the drug. You didn't really give it a try if you only used it for 2 days.

Yes, 1 mg finasteride! That is what I was thinking too. I guess reading the horror stories before starting on it wasn't such a great idea. It scares you and fucks you up psychologically.

It depends on what you perceive as high importance I guess...
The sexual side effects are well documented but reversible, and does not happen to everyone. However I can understand how it could impact a relationship. I personally value my self-esteem, personal appearance, and attractiveness more so than libido.
I'd say give it a red hot go for at least 6-12 months, and then determine whether the sides are tolerable to your lifestyle.

The side effects will eventually hit you. Just a matter of time. And they might be irreversible.

Impotence, weak erections, muscle wastage, brain fog, depressed mood, anxiety, suicidal thoughts.

If you think testicle pain is normal you are fucked up in the head.

The horror stories are real.

You are playing Russian Roulette with your life.

They are not reversible. I am completely impotent.

I used it for 4 weeks. Been off of it for almost 2 months. Completely impotent.

Thousands of other men thought that 1 or 2 pills couldn't make them impotent. I have numerous other neurological side effects that haven't gone away either. These side effects might be permanent.

It's your body though. You are risking your sexual and mental health by using finasteride.

I understand your hair is important to you. But I would urge you to steer clear of finasteride, use topicals, use Rogaine.

Use RU58841, use topical finasteride less dangerous.

Worst mistake of my life was taking propecia. Stepped on a landmine with that sh*t.

It can ruin your entire endocrine system.

Tell the people that reversed their sides that it's not reversible.

Should have gave it a few more weeks to see if the sides disappear, sides from 2 days of use is almost certainly psychological. Your body needs time to readjust after starting, but if you still have sides after a few weeks then come off.

If you can't tolerate finasteride try RU and hope it works for you, topical finasteride goes systemic anyways so you'll likely have the same problem

Please tell me who those people are. I would like to talk to them.

Because as of right now there is no cure for PFS.

What? There's plenty of people on these forums that have gotten side effects that discontinued after stopping finasteride

I get that hair is important. But you are destroying your brain and body with this sh*t. Risking permanent impotence for hair. When there are other safer options.

My brain and body are fine and will continue to be fine. There are safer options but unfortunately they're not as effective as finasteride/dutasteride. As you can see by my regimen I am using these safer options. Arguably I'd say finasteride is safer than Rogaine for me. Rogaine gave me heart palpations for a couple weeks after I began using it, but I'm not telling people Rogaine will put them into cardiac arrest.

You are fine now. Do you know the long term effects of propecia on the brain and body? Do you plan to stay on it for life? Dude there have been guys on it for 15 years and than they crashed with severe side effects. Is it really worth the risk?

Yeah it can slow down hair loss. But it's not safe.

I am not anti hair loss, I am anti propecia because it has ruined my life.

Guys who are desperate (like I was) don't know the potential damage you are doing to yourself.

I am not fear mongering. Several other guys on this forum are fucked too.
