Did I get bad finasteride?

I just got on the fight against hair loss recently (I started keto 2% back in late August). I finally jumped on finasteride two weeks ago. I got no sides when starting. I have been taking it for two weeks and I have not noticed any reduction in the amount of hair I have been losing. Since I have gotten no sides and the amount of hair I am losing is the same, is it possible I was given expired finasteride by the pharmacy (or possibly the wrong proscription). The finasteride I am using is a 5mg pill. I cut it into eight pieces. Its a generic proscription that is $9 from Walmart. The pill is light blue and oval.

Is it normal for you not to experience any sides and not see any reduction of the hair you are losing within the first two weeks?

It is completely normal. Of COURSE it's normal for people not to get any side effects....that's why they are SIDE effects and not just EFFECTS. Agree with cassin, you've spent way too much time on forums and side effect stories.

2 weeks is too early early to see a shed. I'd say after the first month you should know if you're going to get one or not. Not everyone sheds, or sheds much. I shed some, but not a whole ton.

Trust me, you don't want any finasteride sides, they suck. Keep taking it, and you'll hopefully start to see results by month 3 to 6. Don't stop!

I have not even gotten a decrease in libido. I am now at one month on finasteride at 0.5-0.625. The hair I am losing now when I wash it is perhaps more than I experienced than before taking the finasteride, however, it could also be part of the seasonal shed.
