i,m starting to think that DHT is not the major player in this hairloss game,i hear you ask how can you possibly say this.

well if DHT was the main reason we start losing our hair, why wouldn't
avodart totally cure hairloss at least to when you started the drug,
after all avodart claims to stop 93% of DHT ,yet we continue to go bald.
There have been a few sucsesses on the drug like aplunk, jayman and others but jaymans hair when wet, clearly shows bad hairloss even now.

people like timi who has lost a lot of hair on avodart, the guydeserved better

It depends on your follicles resistance to DHT (receptors). Not the DHT itself. Everyones genetic susceptability is different.

Well, if you look on the research and studies forum you'll see some findings about other things which are supposed to contribute to hair loss, like TGF beta-1. But by suppressing DHT you do actually suppress some of these substances. I'm not too sure how it works myself, but I think you can rest assured that DHT is a very potent adrogen and by inhibiting it you are helping your hair.

As for the people who lost hair: well I think most people shed when they start meds - I know I certainly did (and still am since I also started minoxidil) but it doesn't look any worse, and I am getting regrowth on my temples.

to saf

if the follicle had good resistence from DHT none of us would be on here,
what i am sayin is that it does not matter how sensitvy your follicle his.
If you block almost 100%dht then you should never go bald, but this is not the case

Sharply reducing DHT is clearly a giant step in the right direction, but I suspect that other androgens can play a bit of a role in balding, too. I regret that there is always so much emphasis on DHT on all these hairloss sites. The chatter is constantly DHT this, DHT that...

The intersexuals with 5AR deficiency don't go bald, even though they have normal (I assume!) levels of testosterone and other androgens. I think people are expecting too much if they think Avodart will regrow hair. Castrates don't regrow their hair, do they? Besides, with so many duff generics being sold by dodgy NROPs, God knows what half of us are really taking when we think we're taking dutasteride.
