DHT inhibitor alternative to finasteride / dutasteride

Hi all,

I have had to come off finasteride after 7 months because of sides, I was only taking 0.5mg. 1 week off and everything is back to normal.

This means I need to find an alternative or loose my hair, I was thinking about maybe Eucapil or revivogen or spironolactone.

Please can someone give me an idea on which is best ? I've heard good things about Eucapil.

revivogen and spironolactone is the most widely used combo, whether its the best
i dont know. it would be pretty messy seeing as youre already using the foam. if i couldnt use dutasteride tomorrow id probably look into proxiphen but its expensive - £60 a month so youd be putting all your eggs in one basket so to speak. i personally wouldnt put much faith in eucapil alone as a substitute for finasteride.

Cheers then guys, I don't think I'll be touching the finasteride anymore. don't like the idea of it. If it can affect my sex life from using just 0.5mg i'd rather leave it alone. Not to put anyone else off, It did a good job of maintaining my hair.

I'm even considering just staying off the meds and going bald till something like HM comes out. I shave my head anyway and it looks OK. Just don't want a shiny bald head.

hey hairsucks, i'm looking for a finasteride/dutasteride alternative also

i've tried a bunch of stuff, tried eucapil for awhile, not long, but didn't really like it, it's all contained in little glass capsules you have to snap open, and then I can't really feel the liquid going on the scalp, cuz it's not very viscous

the next things i'll be trying will be rogaine foam with

either

1. revivogen

or

2. keracyte

the great thing about both products is that they have a money back guarantee, revivogen for like 90 days and keracyte for like 60 days, both claim some kind of results within those time periods

My suggestion is you choose on of those two choices

Cheers for the advice, I may try the Revivogen. Still may try Eucapil as you say you didn't give it chance to work. I also use foam, have been for about 8 months, good stuff but for some reason my head burns like hell now when I apply it. Never used to, I think it's because my heads really dry now. I added Tricomin and my head whent really dry. Strange.

I would try Spectral DNC over the Foam, and Revivogen. or mabye go with the Foam instead, or alternate the 2.


I have both here im going to start this combo.


Pray to god it works. Mabye i'll try RU again for more than one month lol.

I'm using Eucapil for about 7 months (since I stop using finasteride), and I think I'm maintaining. I keep playing with my topicals(stop using one of them for a few weeks) to see which are the most dominant, when I stopped eucapil for two weeks I started shedding, so I got back to it and shedding stopped. I'm really convinced that this is a very good receptor blocker as long as you avoid getting wet or sweating for enough hours after application.

Well, I've just ordered some Revivogen now so I'll give that ago first. I might get some spironolactone also. I'll give it six months and see what happens. I think I prefered the idea of Eucapil but didn't get much feedback on it.

So my new regime will be:

1x foam in moring
1x Revivogen at night (do you just need 1 application a day?)
Nizoral everyother day - (Thinking of buying Revita)
2000mg of MSM daily

Just hope this revivogen actually does work. Does anyone think I'll just go bald on the regime?

I'll let you know how I get on.

Nothing in your regimen will make you go bald, the foam may make you shed according to some, but that is temporary

But, if it is ineffective, you will start shedding for awhile and eventually everything you gained from finasteride will be lost

I've always wondered what is the best way to switch regimens, on the one hand stopping finasteride will definitely cause shedding so it should be expected, but on the other hand, how long do you give the shedding til you say this new regimen is just not working and I should try something else?

is the best way to quit the first treatment cold turkey?
Or to slowly ween off of it through occasional use?

I think revivogen probably has the best chance of working for me, cuz it is supposed to be a localized 5ar inhibitor, all the other stuff I've tried in the past like spironolactone, fluridil, and RU are all receptor blockers, I don't think this approach worked for me

Well, we will see. The foam wont give me a shed coz i've been using it for about 7 months.

I stopped finasteride nearly 2 weeks ago now. No change yet (apart from my sex life is good again!). I think the quiker I start stopping the DHT the better.

If the revivogen doesn't work then I'll just give up and wait for something like HM or something big to come along.
