As many of you know I have had tremendous success with minoxidil and NO finasteride. I just got some blood work and my DHT is 2 values away from being abnormally LOW. Do you think my low DHT is why the minoxidil is helping me so much? And maybe the 2% keto is effective at that low of DHT?

I think the Doctors don't even know for sure...they read these studies like we do and latch onto them and hope for the best.
Maybe Keto helps skin absorb topicals better and acts as an extremely mild DHT fighter.
Also for me it keeps my hair looking good..i think less hair more oil on scalp..glads are still active.

For me, keto works by improving scalp penetration of treatments. It does so by drying up sebum.
I don't know how else it could work because you wash it away after five minutes so I don't think it has the time to do anything to your follicles.
Pavi, are you sure your wonderful results are not related at least partly to the solution of the thyroid issue you mentioned some time ago?

Hi man. You are correct in that my results could be related to the combo of correcting my thyroid issue and using minoxidil. Don't get me wrong, I am definitely suffering from male pattern baldness though. There is no way to know what is helping me and I'm not willing to stop rogaine to find out lol

no correlation man . when i started propecia i took a blood test and my dht was also in the extreme lower range .
propecia reduce it to a level inferior to pseudohermaprhodite , and guess what ? i keep losing hair .
for me the low dht level will only tell you the sides you are gonna get . for me gyno and ED

man , maybe i got the sides because i used 5 mg , but i am not so sure anymore .
Because i took several blood test whle on 1 mg and 5 mg . and my dht level and oestrogen level were the same .
So basicaly all dose of propecia , from 0,25 mg to 5 mg give almost the same sides . This is a question of sensitivity . you know my oestrogen were still quite low , but before propecia they were non existant , and the increase of oestrogen and extremly low dht recked my body .
It doesnt happen in 5 or 6 month , but after several years like this , you rebody can't hande it anymore .
i hope there will be some cure , because minoxidil only delay the inevitable , that is why i will come back on propecia as soo as possible .

you know i am not a propecia fearmonger, i was realy defending the stuff , like " lol propecia is like sugar pills" i have no sides etc ...
but i was quite in a denial phase . Unfortnately there is no cure , so this is the only thing . Ruining your body potential for hair . really sad
