Perhaps I didnt go to the right one, but 5 min. and $40 later he came to the conclusion that I had no signs up thinning. I told him "Doctor, my hair is thin all over, thats a problem." He replied "Don't know what to say to you... I wouldnt recomend Propecia, its not very good."
Meanwhile, I've been on Propecia for 3.5 years.
I told him that it's not normal to lose your hair all over. Thin sides, thin top, thin back. He didnt know what to say. "Don't worry about it. If it gets bad down the line, your only other option is a transplant."
Idiot.

Anyway, the real point of this story is how impressed I am with these forums. I felt like I knew more about male pattern baldness than he did!
This is the greatest source of information I've ever seen, anywhere.
Long live HairLossTalk.com.

... too bad it took all your valuable time and money to find that out.

I got better advice from my General Practioner (Family Doctor) back in '98. I guess when at all possible - if we do go to visit Derms - we should try and search out the ones that specialize or are at least familiar with hair loss remedies.
