So went to my dermatologist and instead of prescribing duta as I had wanted, he thought upping the dosage on finasteride to 5mg would be a good idea. Isn't there studies that show that 5mg fina suppresses no more DHT than 1mg? Also ordered a duta prescription from Medical Wellness Center regardless because my derm refused to prescribe it to someone my age (23). Do you guys think I should even try the 5mg, or just jump on duta immediately?
Also, been on finasteride 1mg for 3 years and have continued to lose lots of hair the entire time.

This is non standard.
The dose for finasteride is 1 mg daily, not 5. More than 1, just to Be super - sure you are on the right part of the efficacy curve.

5 mg is overkill for hair.

Thats what I am saying. I thought 1mg and 5mg finasteride daily suppresses like the same amount of DHT. I think I am just going to have to go with dutasteride. finasteride clearly isn't strong enough for me.

But please pay attention that duta is stronger than finasteride as regards sperm count reduction.
If you are planning paternity, you better stick to finasteride.
If not, go ahead i think.

I have never heard this. Are there studies on this?
