Denial, , Holding Me Back, What Norwood?

I had a derm say I had male pattern baldness in Jan just after turned 17. He never said what Norwood I was or what level hairloss. I am stuck in denial and haven't statmrted a treatment yet. My hair is greasier in the last 3-4 months. I also have seb derm which Nizoral seems to be helping somewhat. I lose a lot of thin little hairs when I comb my hair. My temples are thinner and I have minituarization in front and sides. I don't think it could be anything but male pattern baldness really but....What is my Norwood??? Would you just start rogaine. I won't take finasteride yet.

You're NW1 - 1.5. You dont have much option at this point because you cant take finasteride for a few years - by which point CB will be out so you wont ever have to touch the poison. I wouldn't use minoxidil as it will just f*** your hair cycles up and you essentially become dependant on it. Nizarol 2x a week and some dermaneedling if you're up for it.

Oh my God. I didn't know it was that bad. I have started Nizoral 2x a week but that's it. @recedingornot87 I have a bad history of family hair loss. My Dad is shaves his head since his 40s. Norwood 5 or 6. My mother has female pattern hair loss since 40s. No one in family has balded this young. If I am this bald now....Crap.

I think you are fine for the time being. Maybe try rogaine if you are that worried. I wouldwait 1 or 2 more years and then reevaluate.

You're like barely a 1/1.5. It looks a little better than my hair. You could try Rogaine.

Nah your hair is just greasy in those pics, plus the headband I'm using makes it look thicker.

I'm almost 26.

@Unlucky93 I have had this since I was 16 at least. The greasy hair thing is new. It stays that way unless I was it everyday. You are 26, how long have you had problems. Are you using minoxidil. I hear horrors of the "dread shed" and it making hair worse.

Same as me, bro. My hair gets super greasy every day too. We both have fine, light hair which looks worse. Do you suffer from acne?

I've been on finasteride for about 14months and I just started minoxidil last week. So far no sheds.

CB is a topical antiandrogen coming out 2021-22 . Results better than finasteride.

I’ve never used Rogaine. Everyone I know who has used it though say the same . It buys you a couple of years but then you realise you can’t come off it or all your hair will fall out.
