As some of you guys know have been on avodrt for 52 days now,my hair is a lot worse than when i started, and i believe the only last option his a transplant probably with dr rahal ,he seems to be a good doctor and cheaper than the others,so am going to basically stop living for the next 9 months to afford this,if by some miracle the avodart starts working then that will be a bonus but it is time to get ahead of this hairloss game because it has ruined my life,to the point that if i don't do this i will be worried about my mental state in the future,I have also thought that when i do get the transplant,it might not come out like i want but if i don't try something i'll just get worse and worse anyway .

You need to get your hair stable or you will be in for a series of transplants in a short period. It is the only problem with transplants much like the drugs---once you start you are commited.

I'm trying to get mine stable then I would go for the transplant but as loss has been so rapid over the last year I know if I did the transplnt I would end up having another the following year so that it doesn't look stupid with hair at the front then balding behind.

Bloody finasteride..why isn't it working for me!

transplants take a year to grow in anyways, give treatments a proper amount of time to work before deciding it's a lost cause.

you started a treatment

FOLLOW THROUGH WITH IT

as much as you annoy me ,i have to advise you to be on avodart for at least a year
there is no way any sane person could expect avodart to improve their hair in 52 days, getting a transplant before giving drugs a chance is ridiculous

add minoxidil and nizoral too,you are on this site a lot ,surely you have done your research and found out the best treatments and how long they take to work??

Some people report alot of shedding the first 1-2 months of avodart use. YOu may be one of those people. Some also report improvement at 6 months. Everyone is different but at least give it a chance for one yr.

Would that be the Arnold of "Pumping Iron" fame or the governator? He 's looking a bit paunch of late. :p

Antonio, The shedding is a good sign...really. It means that you are a responder (and you will have somewhat thicker hair). While you are loosing your hair ,its here and there 50-100 a day. For some reason hormones syncroise the stopwatch and they jump together. This is the biatch of the bunch. Hang tough and let the meds do their job for at least a year and guess what? If they don't you should'nt get a transplant or transplant(s) in the first place..

52 days is NOTHING stay on it for a year youhave a 85% chance as long as you take it daily you WILL KEEP THE HAIR U GOT stabilize ur hair loss first

ALso add nizoral 2% and xandrox 15% which is what stopped my rapid hair loss and caused some regrowth

The same type of shedding ocurance can happen with the initial use of finasteride (propecia) too.
