Hi everyone,

I just joined the forum a few months ago and I figured I'd use it to track my progress. I'm 20 years old, and about a year ago I noticed a little thinning on the top sides of my hair and possibly barely at the crown. The men on my mom's side were all bald by 40, but my dad's side has zero hair loss (hispanic).

So anyways, I've attached some baseline pictures. I've been on rogaine foam for about a year, but it's done zero. I started finax about two weeks ago along with Nizoral shampoo. My question is: what kind of results do you think I can expect? I'm not bald and I'm sure 90% of people wouldn't think I'm balding, but I can see it starting!

Dan

Also, to get a view of where my hair used to be, here's a pic at me at 17 i believe. A lot thicker and more square hairlines.

It does seem like your hairline changed but I barely see signs off hair thinning. I believe this does happen to some guys(where the hairline changes) but it doesn't progress more than that.

If you really think you are losing hair then I would recommend using a topical DHT inhibitor.

Thanks. I'll check a couple out, but I hate using Rogaine as it makes my hair ridiculously greasy and adding another topical treatment probably would probably make it greasier.

Just a couple updates for myself really. I've been on finax for maybe a little over a month and two days ago just actually switched to Dutasteride. Basicallly within the last two weeks my hair's gone to sh*t. My hairlines are rapidly balding it seems....

I'm not on finasteride but I'm pretty sure you're supposed to shed for a bit before regrowing anything. Most people recommend giving it a year for max results.

If you're on finasteride, you can expect a shed. If you're on dutasteride, you can almost bet money on a shed.

Thanks. Yea, that's what I've figured. But are most people's shed's really noticeable?

MAN United! Just went to one of their preseason games against my home team New England Revolution a couple weeks ago. Amazing, amazing team.

anyways, I switched because about a year ago when I first did my own hair loss prevention research I came across Rogaine foam. I read a little into it, reviews on other sites, etc and the reviews were all "WOW it really works!". But after trying it for a year it did nothing for me. After I found out about finasteride I bought enough for a couple of weeks to try it out and then I heard about dutasteride, how much stronger it is, etc and I just figured that I've already fucked around for a year, might as well go strong.

And I saw twinshairloss.com.

Well it's been another three weeks exactly so I thought I'd do a brief update. I *think* I'm starting to shed. I'm catching more hairs in my hands when I just do a run through. The top sides of my head and my hairline seem to be even worse. In about 6 days will be my two month update and I'll post some pictures then.

Has anyone else had really noticeable shedding?

To be honest, minoxidil has done zero for me so maybe you're right. But why do you think so?
