Dandruff still...

So I'm using Xandrox (5%) twice a day. My shampoo regimen is alternating Nizoral (2%), TGEL, and my regular shampoo (each once every three days). I leave the nizoral and tgel on my head for at least 3 minutes after applying.

I notice that I still have some mild flaking at the hairline. It seems more apparent when I use a product to style my hair.

Any suggestions?

Also, any recommendations on a product to style hair with that gives good hold but not too much shine. I like the pomade type products, but have trouble finding one I'm really happy with.

You might try alternating TGEL, H and S, and Nizoral on two week intervals. That may do the trick.

Good luck

Maybe also try adding a shampoo with salicylic acid like T-Sal or Denorex. Denorex 3.0% salicylic acid shampoo/conditioner has done wonders for my scalp since I started using it about a week and a half ago, and thats all I use.

How much product do you use for your hair. I was having the same reoccuring problem as you and was able to bring some relief to my dandruff by taking some days off from excessive hair product. People on here will generally tell you that too much hair products won't do anything, but I think if you already have dandruff using hair products will prevent you from curing it.
just my two cents.

What do you mean by 2 week intervals? Right now I use one shampoo (Nizoral, TGEL, H&S) every three days in my rotation.

Not too much. Generally only when I go out at night - maybe 3 times/week.

Try this.

Use Nizoral every other day for two weeks. Then the same for TGEL, then with H and S.

The concept is to use the anti fungal long enough for it to be effective but not so long as the fungus adapts and becomes resistant.

Good luck.
