Dandruff as a cause of hairloss?

I have had severe Dandruff for years. Itchy, flaky scalp that is from time to time sore. Recently, and I mean within the last few months, my hair has thinned at a pretty fast rate on the crown of my head and my temples.

Doing a bit of research I read that dandruff can be a cause of hair loss. It seems the scalp may begin to thicken and it ends up killing the hair follicles.

Has anyone actually attributed hairloss to severe Dandruff and can anyone recommend something that will help me get rid of the dandruff for good? I have used quite a few dandruff shampoos with very little success.

To be honest Dandruff might be a sign of an inflamed scalp but if you are losing hair because of it then you do not have male pattern baldness. You can lose hair from an inflamed scalp but if your hair is miniturizing along the way then chances are your hormones are playing a bigger role than dandruff.

Your hormones are out of whack and this bad case of dandruff might have been the first sign of male pattern baldness. To remedy the dandruff, because scratching your scalp can cause fibrosis, I would get some ACV and mix it about 60/40 with water. Use this on your scalp as a pre-rinse in the shower every morning. I would probably let it sit on their for about 3-5 minutes then go about your normal business.

A few questions so I am sure I understand. What do you mean by minimizing? Less hair as a whole or something to do with individual hairs?

Also I do not know what ACV is.

I have had dandruff for as long as I can remember, 20 years or so. Since my early teenage years. Lately it has turned more into a crust on the top that comes off in chunks versus flakes. It is sometimes more of a yellow color then white. The sides where my hair is still real thick flakes like it use to, small and white.
