I was at the stylist the other day getting a haircut. It's always fine until they comb your hair back with a wet comb to do the top. It actually didn't look too bad to me that day, a bit thicker than the last time i was there. Then she got to the front of my head and said to me a non-hushed tone where i'm sure the guy next to me heard "Do you want me to leave a little extra in the front to cover up the RECEDING part?" I was like, " uh yeah that's fine". I think she felt embarrassed about because she didn't talk much after that. That's why you should go to the same stylist every time.

I had the same woman cut my hair for 12 years until she moved away, my family still sends her christmas cards.

I've had the same woman cut my hair now for the past 3 years. I will enjoy drive home from school to get her to cut it. She isn't fabulous or anything but if it wasn't the familiarity, i would prolly never get it cut. Especially now that its thinning.

I went to have mine cut this morning. As soon as i sat in the chair the stylist said WOW and started scruffing up my hair!!!I thought oh sh*t WHAT WHAT.then i was told last time you could see your scalp but now its really thickend up and there is loads of regrowth coming through. Then the other stylists gathered round and had a look.Im really happy been told about 6 months time my hair should be back to what it was, once the regrowth has grown. As long as i keep my stress levels down.

I went to Nicky Clarke in Birmingham. The stylist, who was very, very thinning said "Its good that it's left longer here to cover the recession..." :freaked:

And 5 years ago some twat said "Do you want it left longer here to cover these gaps?" I am not kidding, that single remark ruined my whole summer and nearly gave me a breakdown.

WHY DONT THEY THINK?

Lol, yes they do need need to be more sensitive. The worst are the hairdressers where people just turn up, without appointment, to have their hair cut (supercuts in the UK) and sit down in a row behind the mirrors so they can ALL see your hair. It almost makes you want to walk out...

Wow Mickey! Happy for you! I had that experience once or twice where my barber was encouraging me to continue with what I was doing to my hair. It's not a bad feeling... no, not in the least 8)
