dammit. time to start minoxidil

ok so i've done a lot of reseach on this website and i noticed that the only way people have had regrowth at the temples was with minoxidil. finasteride is great for the top and all but for recession and thinning at the temples its all minoxidil there. Actually it seems like a lot of guys get great results at the temples even if they have very fine short thin hairs there like me. Well, i guess i'll start tonight on applying minoxidil once a night on the temples. I guess its not so bad because i won't even need to use the whole 1ml because it is not a huge area like the whole top of the head or anything. Im thinking one bottle can last me 3 months. dammmmit! :freaked:

get on it for sure. i only apply it once at night on my temples and it has done wonders for me. i am not 100% where i want to be yet but i definitely have a nice box style hairline coming it. been on minoxidil 5%, finasteride, and nizoral for about 6 months. haven't seen much from the finasteride on the crown yet...i'm gonna give that a year and if it doesn't thicken up i will then add the minoxidil there too.....the stuff is just so damn messy. anyways, i recommend it for the temples.....worked well for me. tons of little blonde hairs all over my hairline, half have turned thick and brown. patience is the key.

Minoxidil is your primary stimulant and yeah, you need it.

Is it better to use the sprayer or the dropper when applying minoxidil to the temple and hairline area. And if you use the dropper in those areas how can you apply it there without it dripping all over the place.
I ask because I too am very close to start using minoxidil.

i just rub it in with my finger tip. another question, how long does it take to dry? Say i want to wear a hat and i happen to apply it in the morning. Is an hour sufficient?

one more question, i just started on minoxidil the other night and i am using the bottle of 5% rogaine my derm gave to me as a starter a few months back. It says it expires 2/04. which is this month, but do you think it will still work for a bit longer? Because sometiems with certain drugs they have an expiration date but they tend to last a little longer than it says it lasts. :freaked:

thats a good question.i think its like anything else with a date,you can use it after the expiration date although it prolly will loss some of its effectiveness.i wish they made everything like ketchup or mayo.....thats stuff doesnt get bad for years lol.

Finish up the bottle and you should be fine. I doubt there will much of a drop off so soon. Should you still have it in 6 months or so, then probably it will diminish. Just a guess of course.

read the booklett about sufficient time after applying. i think they recomend a half hour for styling products, 4 for a shower and like 2-4 hours before you go to bed. use it twice a day and you should be chillin.
