now if you have hair genes as unfortunate as this what is the chance of not going bald,i ask this question because out of 20 close male relatives ,only 1 has male pattern baldness, well 2 if you count me.
Unfortuntly for me that person is my maternal grandad ,how ever i have 4 male cousins from that branch of the family that are all around 40 years old with perfect norwood 1.

so what i am asking is it possible for these people who have strong balding genes to survive hair loss,Because if they can survive, then i should have a chance

Ouch! Maternal grandad is a bad one, I got the same. I also happen to have lot of his facial features so... it didn't come without a warning, I just couldn't see the signs. Of my mothers 10 brothers perhaps 2 are bald... me and my brother are both balding so I guess maternal grandad plays a big role in hairloss game. My paternal grandfather died NW1, full thick black hair.

same here,my dad is a norwood 1 and very thick hair,my grandad ,dads dad was a norwood 0 like ronnie reagan, really low hairline, almost too low.

now the center of my hairline is very low and although the tempes are a bit highr they are still low,if the maternal grandparent determines your hair status, why have my brother and cousins ,who share the same maternal grandparent not balding at all amd they are older than me

growhairgrow seems that the vast majoirty of your family has great hair genes like mine ,does it not anger you that people were most of there family are bald ,yet they have good hair and we have 1 bad link and thats it.

ewan macgregor the actor has a father that is norwood 7 and is maternal grandfather was a norwood 4 at 30,watched a docu on him last week.
His hair is still in good nick

the only way to tell is to look at your own hair. thats a pretty good indicator. its just speculation otherwise, it can come from either side. if youre maternal grandpa was 6ft 6 it doesnt mean youll be tall too. same with male pattern baldness.

Yeah, well of course. If I had black hair like my father and his father I probably wouldn't have to worry about balding just yet. The thing is I clearly have the same hair type as my mother and his father.

Same here, my maternal grandpa was bald but my father's father was a NW1.

My uncle from my mother side though is totally bald, and some of my cousins too (all from my mother's side). I'm actually holding off pretty well compared to some of them but don't know how much I'll last.

Is the density even near your original hair density? Or does it just look like you're a thinning dude?

Density looks sh*t so I'm not finished yet, made the mistake of not researching first. :(
Paid too much! but have to stick with it until I'm finished.
But at the end of the day its better than being bald.

Sorry to hear that. Nah I'd rather be bald than have unsatisfactory work done on my head, with a donor scar.
