Cycling Hormonal/growth Stim Regimen Will Prevent Build Up Of Tolerance To Treatments?

Hey, Georgie here. Back for more annoying questions.

I’ve been doing some reading about people who find they build up tolerance to minoxidil, Propecia, dutas etc, and end up having very little positive effects from these treatments over time.

I read a post about how the body naturally needs to remain in a constant state of hormonal flux and feedback to maintain a healthy, functional balance of metabolic/hormonal processes. Obviously this includes hair growth. Since there really ARE a lot of people who find after a year, 2 years, however long, they reap no benefits from their treatments, I think the concept of taking cyclic “breaks” from drugs, say maybe a few days each month, a week every few months, or a few weeks a year, holds some credibility, insomuch as it could
allow the body to become reactive once more to drugs by giving it just long enough to replenish new cells and slightly alter hormonal feedback, without causing shedding. You wouldn’t go any longer than maybe 2 weeks.

I find this really interesting given that I seem to be prone to this sort of “tolerance” build up over time.
With this, I aim to take a 1-2 week break from oral minoxidil every 6 months to see if I can’t break the cycle of hair synchronisation. I may also do this with my avodart and daro.

Wondering if anyone else would like to test the theory with me?

"There are two reasons that you should cycle, that is, use them for a period of time and then go off them for a period of time. first, all hormones in the body work via a delicate, complex feedback mechinisms, with one hormone signaling another to turn on or off in response to the amount of hormone circulating in the body. By continually suppliny the hormone from outside you can interrupt the natural feedback mechanism............

............there is an art and science to cycling, except for basic vitamin, mineral and anitoxidant supplements, cycling any substance is recomended. your body will adjust to most things and the response you are looking for will be attenuated.....

I think this could be just as credible as concepts like carbohydrate cycles or even steroid cycles for those that partake... Especially when you consider something like finasteride gets removed from the body quickly and your hormones stabilize very fast, giving your body time to "forget" them.

There’s really only one way to find out, which is going ahead and trying it. Works in theory, but I’m big on seeing is believing, which is why I’m willing to do it myself.
