cutting the pill

I had a 4 month supply of propecia which ran out the other day. I purchased 5mg proscar for financial reasons and I'm having a few teething problems cutting the pill. It seems to break into pieces instead of slicing in half perfectly and the finasteride inside seems to break loose from the capsule and it just seems pretty dodgy in terms of losing some of that 5mg and getting an equal dose.

Anyone else know what I'm talking about? Advice would be nice.

I already have a pill cutter but when it cuts the pill, one half of it always breaks. The powder on the surface looks to amount to a reasonable amount as well... Guess I'll try out the pill cutter you suggest and stop whining like a school girl.
