Cutting down 5mg Proscar

Hi guys, quick question here (and I think I know the answer but thought I'd just check). My pill cutter is annoyingly cutting down a 5mg proscar pill into 3's, so for the last week or two, I've been taking a 1/3 per day and then not taking anything on the 4th day and then repeating...I take it this is okay, meaning that I'm still going through 5mg every 4 days?

The idea is to use 5 mg over 5-6 days. I cut the proscar pill into 4 sections and use it every other day.

any particular reason for cutting it to 1/3?

No reason, as I say, the pill-cutter I'm using (not what different method I try) always seems to split it into a 3rd, so my thinking was taking 1.65 mg per day but then leaving the 4th day, meaning 5mg is still being split over 4 days, albeit not into 4th's.

I just bite 1/5th off the pill everyday and it works just fine.

Time for a new pill-cutter!

I have one that cuts the pill in half, then i cut each of those halves in half, making 1/4 (1.25 mg).
