Current Thoughts About Lasers?

Hey Guys,
So I am not new to hair loss or the laser debate, but I was revisiting the idea and wanted to get everyones thoughts on it. A couple years back, I was actually doing the laser therapy regularly, but the diodes I bought were so cheap that one of them shorted out, got crazy hot and then burned up my power supply (gotta love China, right?).

Anyway, I was particularly interested in hearing from people with success who were not using Finasteride or dutasteride. I know Hairchaser said he was back to NW1 with that in his regimen. Quite honestly, I'm a bit desperate as I had to cut the minoxidil to 1x a day due to sides after being a user for over 12 years. Are there any real studies that show that using a high powered system (i.e. not the ripoff laser combs) is truly a waste of money?

I just started using laser therapy, so I have no clue if it actually works or not. I haven't seen much evidence that they actually make very much of a difference. The only reason I decided to try is because I found a reasonably priced laser device online, and was pretty impressed with hairchaser's results. I personally would not drop a few hundred dollars on a device that "may" work.

My transplant doctor said laser will not grow hair. In fact he said that about everything. He said finasteride will slow down loss or stop it. Same with minoxidil. From what i have read if it was lost over a few months before you started using products it is lost forever. It is not below your skin dormant.

I wouldn't even think of attacking you. You read the same stuff I do. We read about hair cycles. That the products we use make those cycles and hairs healthier. I thought I read the hairs dormant for more than a few months have died. It is very possible I am not completely read up on it (that I am wrong!). Laser seems to be one of the things that helps make the hair healthier. But unlike you who got it cheap, I don't think anyone else should go to great expense for laser when it is one of many things to try and stick with.

PS Whoops, you were not the one who had bought a laser device.

PPS I have seen your pics. very impressive. Very uncommon.
