i'm going to pretend to be taugenichts for a second and say that i see some major thinning mate. you need to add some minoxidil and tricomin and nizoral and maybe start dutasteride as well because honestly that looks pretty bad to me. i think you'll be an nw7 within 2 years if you don't do anything. honestly your hair looks terrible

meds prob won't get you your hair back but maybe you can lose it a little bit slower. give up any hopes of getting hot women. maybe you can use your money and get some sunless tanner and a gym membership to try and get a girl but your days of banging hot girls are over.

sorry bro,

anyway, sieg heil(jk ;))

above was a joke, btw, lucy923. hair looks fine.

You "may" be starting to have loss in the crown..........there's no way to tell at this point because I don't have anything to compare to. Do you have any pics you've taken within the last 2-3 years you can compare to?? Some guys crown hair looks like that at 10yrs old, some guys have crown hair so thick you can't see scalp............everyone's different. The only way to tell for sure is by comparing over time.

As for whether or not a relative had or didn't have hair loss...................it doesn't matter. There is NO WAY you can predict hair loss. Guys with no close relatives that have experienced hair loss lose it, guys with relatives that are Norwood 7 end up having no hair loss.................it's a crap shoot. Yes, it is genetically linked, but there's no way to tell whether or not you inherited the "bald" gene until it happens.

You need to start documenting this with pics ever 6-12 months or so. If you start seeing a little more scalp, get on finasteride (or minoxidil if you can stand the messy regimen).

OK cool even if it is starting to thin the finas should be able to stop it in its tracks for years I would hope. How long do you guys think I would be able to keep it like this without getting worse. Is it possible with meds to keep it like this for up to 10-15 years maybe even have it get better??

I don't know how you would improve your crown looks ok to me. You could jump on finasteride once you notice something progressing from those pics. In other words, like others have recommended, keep a close eye and take pics every 3-6 months to judge.

Yes.........."if" you are thinning, great thing you've caught it while you still have lots of hair. In my experience, finasteride is better at helping guys hold on to what they have, any regrowth seems to be minor and in most cases not really significant. Also...........yes, I believe it is possible finasteride may halt further loss for the next 10 years or so.

The thing you must realize is that there are so many unknowns with hair loss that nothing is for sure. You just have to get the mind set that you will combat it as best you can..............take care of your hair and scalp, and see how it goes.

Best of luck,

Just to reiterate YOU DONT NEED ANY TREATMENTS YET! not until you see some definate loss.

Cool, I guess I'm just still worried shitless as I'm 27 now and my dad didn't start losing his hair until around 40 it seemed and it was a very slow progress as he is a norwood 2.5v now at 54 so I'm hoping that if mine was going to be slow and not so aggressive the finas would work even better at stopping it and be able to stop it in its tracks for a long time.

If I get a good ten years of maintenance I will be happy because I will be in my late thirties and hairloss won't be as big of a deal as I should be settled down and more apt to take it by then, and then of course there might be hm and other better treatments out so maybe I'll always have a full head of hair until I'm an old geezer. Its just so stressful thinking there is a possibility it could go when I'm young.

I know I'm just thinking I jumpstarted my hairloss early however and it pisses me off as I was put on some testosterone for medical reasons about a year ago and it seems to have started the whole process as I do notice it is thinner than a year ago. I was thinking if I didn't go on the T I would be in the same shoes as my old man and not start until I was 40 and then be able to hang on to most of my hair until my 50's which would be great but now I'm 27 13 years earlier which means I won't be able to hang on to it as long. :-x

I just pray the meds hold me where I'm at.

About one year ago I realized that I was balding any my crown looked similiar to yours.....It got worse since then.

let´s face the facts: Bad family history concerning hair loss(father and grandfather bald), your hairline started receding and you are unsure about your crown.

I am not trying to tell you to get on meds since I don´t know whether you are actually losing it or it is indeed just a mature hairline. You will have to make this decision yourself. Good Luck on whatever you do!

I'd take closer up shots, but your hair looks real good. I'd maybe use nizoral 2% 2-3x week at some point, better than spending a bunch of money on crap like Nioxin.
