Hello guys. As you see there is hair loss on the crown. But i still have many tiny hair/velus or weak hairs. Can this be regained with microneedling or oral minoxidil?
i already use finasteride for 2 and half years and minoxidil topical.

Get a translant to fill the crown problem fixed. Try oral min first. Why did you start treatments so late?

If you still have visible vellus hairs, there's definitely potential. Consistency with oral min + weekly microneedling might wake them up. Anyone here seen solid regrowth from that combo after long-term topical use?

Yeah .. Never say never.. because hair follicles are formed from hair stem cells & with stimulation we can get new hair stem cells & new follicles. And it’s possible to stimulate dormant weak hairs .. to thicken individual hairs.. The problem is when hairs start to miniaturize other problems magnifiy. Into a cascade of multiple problems..So your biology as well as my biology has DHT which slowly inflames scalp (which we can’t feel or see) scalp start stiffening & thinning, (which we can’t see) and follicles start getting “squeezed” which exacerbates situation & we start sweating sebum & more squeezing to the point where normal hair growth is under stress. And visible hair loss starts where the inflammation is greatest.. So it’s not only a tight scalp it’s inflammation.. hair loss can appear on sides as well.
So what to do? Because a perfect diet won’t solve it.. Massage alone won’t.. microneedling won’t ..
Nobody has solved the problem. But what
I can say we can make some positive inroads.. without jeopardizing our health..

Sorry for late response. Didnt check back this thread.

In response to your question ''why started so late''

I genuinely believed that there were no real options for recovering hair.

I am still doing the microneedling stuff (1.5mm once a week with 2x nizoral). Will post final results later on.

transplant is really last scenario. if i can grow some crown hair and make it blend with rest of hair +toppik i think thats mission accomplished (transplant delayed).
You have a decent hair density,..., let them grow

Its not slick bald but the problem was the hairs were too thin (miniaturized). I am trying to recover it. lets see what happens will update you guys later.

Thats the real challenge. Turning those thin weak hairs into solid thick terminal ones. Some people respond very good to that combo and some average or disappointing. I am keeping my hair very short (5mm) so i dont know the true potential of the 5 months long work.

fyi im not using oral minoxidil as i am afraid it will cause a irreversible shed for the rest of normal hair. just topical minoxidil + finasteride + microneedling weekly.

Transplants usually look strange. The problem is, people will be able to see your skin. It looks strange no matter how long or short your hair is, unless it's a very small transplant.

You should try topical Progesterone if you can get it. There are two companies that sell it in the United States.

You really need to use sunscreen on your scalp, if you're going to keep your hair that short.
