In the past few months ive been going to the gym and ive gotten slow results so some people a the gym told me to get some creatine, wich i immedeatly googled for hair loss and dht effects and found this http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19741313 .

Has anyone taking creatine noticed more shedding?
Do you think creatine and dht are really related?

Creatine is readily found in meat. Stopping the consumption of meat won't stop your hair loss. I do believe it can speed/slow your process.

Hahaha no dude you can gain weight fast, all you have to do is eat a ton more food! I'd recommend an extra 1,000cal to your daily intake. Go for a high protein diet, lots of complex carbs, and if you truly want to try creatine try to get it in one of it's more complicated forms like ethyl ester. Don't use monohydrate, that stuff will help you gain weight, but it will be a majority water weight. Remember to drink a lot of water when bulking with creatine. Compound workouts with high set, low rep, short rest. People have argued that working out increases test=increases dht, but IMO it's all genetic.

Also interested in this discussion. I use whey protein, creatine and glutamine when I go to the gym. Can any of these accelerate hairloss?

In fact, can working out and bulking up in general contribute to hairloss, as it raises your testosterone levels?

I've read before about a study which found creatine increased DHT levels a fair amount during a loading phase. That was only one study though which hasn't been repeated to my knowledge. As far as creatine being readily available in meat, you'd need to be eating a steak every day to get close to a supplemented level afaik...

Yeah it can... However I wouldnt stop working out because of it... Protein may actually be beneficial and i see no harm in glutamine. However i have beeen reading about creatine and there are a lot of people who claim it caused hairloss so im not really sure...
