Could it be evolution?

I just re-read your post, I hope the alien thing is a joke.

It was mostly a joke.

Anyway, our brains don't need to develop when we're already grown, we already have all the brain cells we're gonna have.

Uhhh...I wasn't referring to the brain development of any single specific individual, I was referring to the general brain development of our entire human species, as we gradually got smarter and smarter over the eons, gradually generating more and more heat in our brains, which needed more and more heat dissipation.

Interesting theory but I just don't buy it. I'm confident that male pattern baldness will become less prevalent and perhaps with gene therapy even non-existent, but I guess agree to disagree.

ill throw my two cents in. its has most likely been repeated but ill be short.

*evolution is very real
*growing hair requires resources
*the body may acclimate to not needing hair for warmth
*therefor it is detrimental to grow an abundance of hair
*the hair on our heads has social properties
*either natural selection or adaptation will yield a full head of hair in the foreseeable future.

Why don't you buy it?? To me, it's very simple and straightforward, something that William of Ockham would simply love! It's so simple and straightforward, in my opinion, it has that numinous quality of elegance. It also has that study I cited earlier which supports the general principle through actual experimentation. What more can you ask for in a theory? :)
