We need cortisol to burn fat, like when we sleep, right? But if you have too much, it breaks down the wrong tissues and turns them to blood sugar which is then put into fat cells. I read that stressing too much can raise cortisol levels too high. I know I stress a lot. Should I get my levels checked? And what about those cortisol lowering drugs? Are they safe, and do they work? If I could reduce my stress related aging that would be nice. I'll try to stop stressing, but is good to have a back up.
