Correlation Between Greying And Balding Hair?

Do you think there is one? Obviously cellular deteriation and age. But I mean something more specific. I am diffuse balding in a Norwood 5/6 pattern and I have diffuse white hairs all throughout my hair. I'm only 37. The diffuse thinning has been going on since my 20s, but has really upticked since I started greying in the last year and a half. The two in tandem are basically a death blow in terms of self confidence and feeling attractive.

I can imagine it will not be good for your self confidence having both problems but I don't think there is a correlation, not in my experience anyway as I started greying about 10 years ago which is before any hair loss. I'm also 37 too btw.
