If a 1.5 dermaroller is being used you would have to press hard enough with the roller to get the full leanth of the needles into your skin. You cant roll lightly or you wont get in your needle all the way.

Use an electronic device, I wouldn't trust a lot of them cheap rollers.

Yes, you need to press deep. However, the biggest issue with dermanrollers is microtearing, so I also suggest you invest in an electric one.

The tearing hurst the most while it does not get you better results. Buy a pen or derminator. One time investment

Don't bother with derma roller.

I used derma roller one year ago and my scalp would be visibly red 2-3 days after session and I wasn't even pressing hard. With derminator 1.5mm scalp looks almost completely normal after 24h. Think about the excessive wounding involved.
