hi there, basically, i thought id make a thread pointing out a couple celebrities who are bald or balding that i personally look up to. sure it probably wont make any difference to anyones day but i sometimes think that if these guys are no worse off in my eyes then maybe things wont be so bad after all. sorry if this has been done before but i thought it might be nice to see for one or two people out there.

oh and im not gunna go down the jason statham route of celebs who were made for a #2 shave cause most of us arent that lucky.

just to say that i hope this thread doesnt come off as sleazy or tabloid-y in any way, i just thought maybe one or two people might think of someone they look up to with male pattern baldness and be 1% less depressed.

joey santiago - guitarist of the pixies

steve buscemi - actor

krist novoselic - bassist of nirvana

woody harrelson - actor

i said 'or balding' :)

and yea urmm i tried to steer clear of people who looked great bald or anything like that cause im sure a lot of us wont. i dunno maybe these guys dont do it for you but personally theyre all guys who i figure even if they do look a bit crappy theyre all good examples of role models i guess. cool was just an easier way of saying that.

but maybe it doesnt work for anyone else so dont worry about it.

When mentioning cool balding dudes I never hear about Christopher Meloni.

He is not in the category of "cute" bald guy or insanely popular bald guy that many people on this site claim is not a good rule to show how baldness can affect someone's looks.

There's just something about his high hairline ( NW4? ) that suits him so well.
While many people would look stupid with that kind of hair, Meloni's look seems to actually be better with his hairloss.

Something about the cool mature guy.

I always thought Jake Luhrs, the vocalist for August Burns Red, pulled off a receding hairline really well. I'd guess he's NW3, and I believe he's in his mid-20s. I couldn't find many decent pics online - in most of the casual pics he has a hat on (wonder why). I've met him at a few of their concerts and yeah, I don't think he'd look right with a full head of hair.

There's a pretty good picture of him at http://www.myspace.com/augustburnsred - just scroll down a little.

Meloni used to wear a ton of concealer on SVU. He appeared on Leno (or one of those) one night without it and he was practically a Norwood 6---basically very llttle hair on top and what he had was very light and fine and the Norwood 6 horshoe was quite prominent. That was several years ago. I haven't watched that show much or seen him in anything lately.

Heh, cool thread. Just for fun; my top5 baldies:

1. Tom Cruise´s character in the movie "Tropic thunder". That guy rocks
2. Neil Strauss: if you make fun of his baldness, he´ll sleep with your girlfriend.
3: Bruce Willis: Bad. A$$.
4: John Travolta (in the movie "I love you Paris", where he shows his true bald self. Kudos)
5: Larry David. Extremely funny guy.

My big brother was always an idol for me. He has this way of making people around him laugh and feel good.
Furthermore, my big brother was probably the most handsome guy I've ever seen until his hairloss started. I looked at some old pictures the other day and was reminded just how good looking he is/was, he looked like Cristiano Ronaldo with his fantastic black hair and model-like face it's really ridiculous - the best looking guy I've ever seen. i have no doubt in my mind that if his hair hadn't started going at 18, he would have become a model for some huge agency.

Now at 29 he's still a great looking guy with his bald head, but I must say hairloss did have an effect on his looks. If a cure for hairloss is found I'm very interested in seeing him with hair again.. he'll probably be signed for some modelling agency if that's the case then.

I'll see if I can get some pictures on my computer from when he had hair and when he doesn't. I dont have a scanner but I'll see what I can do.

I was a big Stone Cold Steve Austin fan a few years before my hair loss started. Maybe it was written in my genes to have bald role models.
