Hello everyone, I'm new to here and in hope of getting some insight for my condition.
According to visual inspection everyone include in my mother and father's side are not bald. That includes my mother's father, my mother's sisters, my mother's brother, and same to my father's side.
I started noticing an oily scalp when I was 16, and began to notice fuzzy hair not long after that. On the age of 22, I start noticing the top of my head became a lot more flatter than before. And on age 24, I'm starting to see my scalp when looking against the mirror, and some of my friends would say they see I'm starting to loose hair.
Based on the information above, do you guys think my hair loss is genetic? I am not too sure because if so than at least 1 of my relatives should be bald. but instead, all of them have full head for 2 generations above me on both sides.
Anyway, I started using Rogaine in march 2009. I saw no result and my shedding dragged for 9 weeks continuously. Than I switched to spectral DNC, until now Mid August 2009. The problem is, my shedding still haven't stopped yet. And it's been 5 1/2 months already. What should I do now? The booklet said I should stop after 2-6 weeks if my shedding continues. But I also read some people saying it lasts up to 4 months and they started to see result. But for me its 5 1/2 months and shedding still on the same speed never slowed.
