Considering Foreign Transplant…Turkey?

So, after researching on these forums, apparently Turkey seems to be the best bet of all-- if you plan on a hair transplant. They offer affordable FUE options compared to where I am now (USA), they are clean and have strict medical guidelines, and accommodate your stay there with discounts, transportation, and and interpreter. This almost sounds to good to be true… Is there a catch that I am missing? Someone give me more insight, or think of a bad reason to get a hair transplant done overseas?

I'd like to have it done in U.S. ideally but it costs almost 10K! Yikes

A FUT transplant would cost you 10k in the USA. FUE ... ye right. Around 15000


I would do it like this:

FUT : North America

FUE : Turkey

If something goes wrong with a hair transplant done in Turkey good luck getting any money back. Sometimes the cheapest isn't the best.

Surgeon skill is a big factor. Graft survival and artistry are highly dependent on surgeon/technical staff skill. Turkey does however have highly skilled surgeons. Don't go cheap for the sake of cheap though, you want as many grafts to survive as possible.

If I ever get a hair transplant, ********* or Erdogan will be my doctor. Great results, super competitive prices. I believe ********* was around like $2.20/graft (FUE) and Erdogan was like $2.50/graft (also FUE). Most docs in the US charge $6+/graft for FUE, so it's really a no brainer on the price. The work of those two docs I mentioned looks as good or better than most of the work I've seen from US doctors so I see no point in getting FUE done in the US.

I don't think those turkey surgeons are absolutely top tier like Rahal, H&W and Feriduni but they are excellent for the price. If I ever get a hair transplant it will probably be with them simply because I can't ever see having £10k+ to drop when I could spend £4k for similar, if not quite as spectacular, results.

But the real question is - ********* or Erdogan?

If you decide to go to Turkey for your hair transplant, I can't recommend enough that you do some sightseeing in Istanbul.

North America you can be rest assured of quality patient care, and if anything arises you will be backed up with a guarantee. Turkey can be a hit or miss on that matter.


********* has been revoked of his coalition member status. problems with patients, and hair transplant network did research on the issue, and decided to remove his status.


I'll go with Erdogan until ********* issues are resolved.

Yeah I saw that stuff about *********. Was it mainly an issue of his techs doing the implants so people were getting worse results? It's good that one website is holding these surgeons accountable and there is visibility of the issues for us patients/consumers. And it was good that ********* came on and defended himself.

I also don't put much trust in the IAHRS. The whole industry just seems quite sketchy to me.

Does anyone here plan personally to go to Turkey to get a transplant? It seems like the best fit would be Erdogan. I just get nervous to leave the country to undergo an invasive procedure and not have any help out there… Has anyone succeeded at this and been happy with results? What does everyone else plan to do if they don't think Turkey is a good idea?

i went Turkey last year to get hair transplant fue 3000 grafts crown and front. I can say that the doctors are pretty good. Only thing lacking is there poor English...i mean very poor English. I had an English translator but he was from Germany Very upfront. I guess its the price you pay for. I would probably need another Hair transplant in the coming few months but i think i would look else where.
Cant complaint my hair transplant has worked, 80% satisfied but another 3 months to go until full result.

Not a hope of me going anywhere near Turkey or Belgium for a transplant with bombs going off! FUE business in Ankara must be taking a hit!
