For my only treatment. In addition to the morrocco method shampoos. Should I make the jump? Here is my other thread on here.

http://www.hairlosstalk.com/discussions ... 989#204989

I mean I'm 20. Everything in life is great..then I get to shower everyday and realize how bad my receeding hairline is.

Considering Finasteride 1mg/day

http://www.unitedpharmacies.com/(<$0.30/day if you buy $120 worth)

direct link

http://www.unitedpharmacies.com/Finpeci ... p_343.html

It seems like minoxidil is for crown balding only. My hair is not really thinning nor do I have any bald spots. Just a lack of hair in the front. Anyone around my age have any input? Or anyone in general...

I'm open to all suggestions/opinions! Thanks!

You still taking it? Any side effects? I'm just mostly scared of messing with my hormone levels at such a young age.

Well. I've ton a ton of reading and I'm impatient. I just ordered 30 strips from that site. Still would like input in this thread!

I will try to take pics before I start it and post what happens over time...

0.30 dollars per day is about $9 per month. Very good. If you mail me a few pills, I could do UV spectroscopy using one of my proscar pills as a standard and tell you if there is 1mg in the pill. However, I don't know if your post was an add, so I'd rather get a sample from an experience poster who got some there.

Minoxidil works everywhere, not just the crown. they just can't advertize the other areas becuase the crown is the only place they tested.

propecia is weaker in front, and 20 year olds have more aggessive hair loss that people who started balding in their 30's. I doubt you will regrow your front with propecia, though you might save it. You should use Nizoral 1% shampoo 3 times a week and use equate 5% minoxidil from walmart ($6 per month) in your front and middle, as a bare minimum.

Funny that you only want advice from people your age. Do you really think people your age know more on average than people who've been fighting hair loss for 3 or more years and been on this site for years? Most people your age probably don't know it is possible for 20 year olds to go bald, let alone know what causes it. Aplunk1 is your age (21). Contact him if you want. I forgot how old Goingat20 is, but he is very knowledgeable too. Both are experimenters, and would not consider themselves gurus, but they can bring you up to speed.

Ah. I thought I remember reading "If you only want to regrow the front this product is not for you." What's the deal with nizoral? and for minoxidal. Is it a everyday type gig? I work 24 hour shifts about 3x a week and on call so I'm unable to do anything like that, I think? Some of our stations have showers....

the active ingredient in nizoral weakly binds to androgen receptors, blocking the point were DHT would attach. it has the effect of there being a little less DHT, giving you as much of a boost as 2% minoxidil would give you compared to nothing, except this boost is additional. you just have to use it 2-3 times a week. As for the minoxidil, it should be applied twice a day, but once a day will give some benifits. they can't legally say it works on the hairline because they did not test it on the hairline, but I've grown long peach fuzz with it in the hairline, so it works. you don't need a shower. you just need a minute, and a mirror helps but is not needed. if you have a helmet, it will smell like minoxidil, but that is the only issue.

So it doesn't need to wash out? How does one apply it? So costco for kirkland minoxidil and where for nizoral?

When I use minoxidil, i like to at least run some water through my hair before adding some more.

Both Propecia and Minoxidil will give you hairline growth. Use both, i really insist. I used Propecia for two years and my hairline still sucked, but it was like a million times better. Then i used minoxidil, and it made it better still. I also used 2% Ketoconazole shampoo. (Nizoral equivolent)

You're saying there's a chance that this Finpecia from United Pharmacies is fake or that it doesn't have a full 1 mg in it? Everything I've read from Dr Lee and others says that Finpecia is comparable to Propecia in terms of composition and that Fincar is comparable to Proscar. So Im confused.

Finasteride is the same as propecia and proscar right?

Finasteride is the active ingredient in Propecia and Proscar. Propecia and Proscar are both made by the same company, Merck, and both have the same ingrendient (Finasteride). The difference is Propecia is a 1mg pill and Proscar a 5mg pill. The generics from what i understand (since i don´t take generics) are amongst many, Finpecia for Propecia, and Fincar for Proscar, but the best way of knowing is by looking at the weight of each pill: 5mg-Proscar generic, 1mg-Propecia generic.

Don't worry about it...Finpecia is 100% legitimate and made by a very reputable company.....and while internet pharmacies are shady at best...United pharmacies is very reliable....any number of guys here can verify that for you.

Thanks Beaner. I was wondering specifically about United Pharmacies with regard to those two drugs. $90 for a year's worth of Finpar and $145 for a year's worth of Finpecia sounded too good to be true....

The finpecia definitely works...I can't confirm it contains 1mg finasteride, but I have no reason to doubt that it does, and quite a few have used the fincar. You'll be fine with either, I'm sure.

I've placed two orders with them so far. I'm in NYS and received the first one in 9 days. The second shipment was taken by Customs...I immediately contacted United and they gave me the option of a total refund or replacement order. I chose the replacement order and received it in 7 days. They've always responded promptly to my emails and are quite helpful.....or should I say the one guy is..it's always the same person responding to my inquiries. After my supply runs out though, I'll probably try to get a real 'script for generic finasteride now that it's available. It will be just as cost effective since my insurance will probably cover it.
