Considering finasteride haters topical spironolactone/nizoral combination

hey guys,

lately a good doctor has come out and slammed propecia for the numerous effects it CAN have on the body, what i am interested in however is the concoction he offers up as an alternative, i spoke with a Dr about having this compound made (I do not know much about making your own hair cures) here is what he said

If you can supply 100ml of Nizoral shampoo i'll supply 5g of spironolactone pure powder and mix it up for you at a cost of $75 (plus postage). I cannot use the tablets as the fillers will not dissolve and produce an awful end product - you'll need about 200 of the 25mg tablets for 5g spironolactone.

My Question is basically this, has this combination ever been looked at as a possible hair loss solution i mean mixing them together like the Dr Chisler (Sp) has, could the effects be heightened with both drugs being mixed together with some sort of nano delivery vehicle??

Any Thoughts on what this possible solution might do, if anything.

If taken in capsule form it might make you a female or start the process so i hear, and not to much in regards to topical unless its systematically absorbed then it would be like the oral side effects i presume.

Isn't it just 2% keto as opposed to 2% Nizoral (which I'm sure has other things in it)?

What Doctor did you offer to get make this up? Interesting that you bring this up, I have been following it and was looking into making my own mix. Interesting that this Doctor mentions using the tablets produces an awful end product. A few guys over at HLH make their own with things like an Aloe Vera base and they say it is pretty good.
Crisler uses a Liposomal Delivery System though, which some believe make a big difference, so you may want to mention that to the Doctor.

I'm a little bit sceptical though, Crisler claims it to "stop hair loss", but I've seen tons of guys using spironolactone and Nizoral for long periods of time without any outstanding results.
I think it could be a good addition to a regime, but I don't know if it will be as effective as Crisler made it sound.

I'd also mention you can get 100x100mg spironolactone on Inhouse Pharmacy, which would make two 5% 100ml spironolactone/keto creams and the spironolactone is a lot cheaper. I wouldn't be paying $75 for it, I could probably make up 3 spironolactone creams that size for that cash... Plus one bottle of nizoral which is relatively cheap.

He sure has a strange mentality for being a DR, Anyway I'm sure such a simple concoction has been tried before.

People at Hair Loss Help were a little rude to him but the doctor did over react a lot.

How do we know whether topical spironolactone is systematically absorbed? Also, spironolactone has been used for years, why aren't we hearing hundreds of success stories from spironolactone + keto?

Yeah he is an absolute nutter, he chucked a massive tantrum in there. He seems to have a huge ego as well.

Anyways as Goten said, a lot of people have used spironolactone and Keto/nizoral (albeit not in the same concoction) and I've never heard any flourishing reviews. JohnDavid over at HLH has been using spironolactone for over a year as well as Keto shampoos and he said there was virtually nothing to report. Bit disappointing.

I think I might start making my own spironolactone cream soon though, I think it could be very good for maintenance if you catch the male pattern baldness early, but I am a bit hesitant to spend a year apply a topical that does nothing.
