hey guys
I'm a 21 year old asian male suffering from hairloss. the dermatologists in my area are of no use as they dont even bother examining me properly. they take one look at my hair and laugh it off saying its nothing.probably due to the fact that i have 'fluffy' hair..they 'fluff' up after i shampoo and explode till it seems i have a headfull of hair, dont know how long that'll last .
The scenario here is, my dad at the age of 54 still has hair. my mom has hair, my elder brother (27 yrs old) has hair, my sister has hair. both grandfathers had hair. I'm the only one losing hair this bad. could it be genetics? My dad has 4 brothers and only one is bald. My mom has 2 brothers and one of them is bald as well. should i be considering genetics when it comes to only 2 uncles? My hairline has'nt receded as such even though i've been clogging up the sink since the past 4 years but now when my hair is wet you can tell its thinned out as you can see my scalp.the sides have taken a somewhat 'm' shape.i am not growing hair back as fast as i'm losing it.its basically frontal thinning so if i comb out my usual 'middle parting' the hair just falls dead on the side totally lifeless. the hair on the sides and back are fine.just the front and vertex a tad bit. what i dont understand is i even lose hair that is currently growing, as in the rest of my hair are probably 3 inches long but i lose hair an inch long as well, basically hair that hasnt fully grown yet.
i also suffer from everyday stress which is not something i can combat.
everyday stress such as things people will say or do might get to be and i end up giving it alot more thought than i should.
I have had a thyroid test and it was clear. Do not have dandruff as such but i do use T/gel to clear up the little bit now and then.
both Grandfathers had a full head of hair. My father had a condition when he was 20 where his nervousness (which i probably inherited) caused him really bad stomachaches. Hes' been taking a sort of tranquilizer (Ativan) for it ever since as now hes addicted to it. Is it possible here to determine whether my hairloss is stress induced or genetic? I do not lose hair in clumps, rather diffuse but mostly from the frontal region. As long as i take my hand through my hair i keep on ending up with 5 or 6 everytime till i stop.
I have dry frizzy hair since the age of 18, though it wasnt that way before, now its impossible to tame and have a hairstyle unless i use a hairgel or spray though i do not use too much.
I lose upto 40 hair a day i suppose. I have tried conditioners and oiling my scalp but it hasnt really helped. Could it be i have a chronic case of telogen effluvium where my everday stress is causing me to shed hair this bad?
ps. I wear a cap very very often for around 12 hours a day sometimes but i hear caps and hats causing hairloss is just a myth.
ANy feedback from you would really be appreciated. the fact that i dont even know whether this is male pattern baldness or something else is driving me crazy. since 4 years i've been clogging up the sink everytime and i would've thought i'd be bald by now.
halpp!
