I dont know to what extent nizoral includes ingredient to insure penetrability of ketokonazole into the scalp and to ensure its soluble. Keto is insoluable in water. So youd have to be able to find a way to dissolve it into your shampoo. That'd be my only motivation to use nizoral over a homemade.
I suppose a "visible" measure is if the homemade keto shampoo reduced inflammation, and scaling associated with dandruff and dermatitis, which in my experience, nizoral does VERY RAPIDLY, after about the second application (far superior to pyrithone zinc formulation).
