Hey, I'm currently a complete mess. Right now I can pull out hair on top, on the lower back of my head and above the ears in handfulls. As in, since a day at most
Short summary of my story: Had completely full hair till march of 2009, I had done a crash diet (only protein and fat) from jan to march 2009, then in about 6-9 months lost a lot of density on top. Had some bloodwork done in the middle of 2009, which showed that I had hypothyroidism and bad liver enzymes. From that time till now I've had consistent high emotional stress due to this, my relationship with the ex crumbling, the following break-up and then my hairloss, as well as my degree. Went on propecia and minoxidil in march 2010, hairloss appearantly halted but did not recover. I've used minoxidil in the front for the last month again, now on the top for about a week.
My hairloss follows a norwood 3 diffuse, as well as loads and loads of vellus hair on the hairline front from before, above and after the ears, following the neck, which I've read could be due to the finasteride. I don't think it was very pronounced until I got on it.
I buzzed my head to a 2 guard a couple of days ago, it doesn't look good on me. The sudden hair falling out rapidly on top feels like a death-sentence. I know this could be a minoxidil shed, but I'm almost certain I did not have it the first time round.
I am completely freaking out, I can not pull a lot of hair out of the hair that remained thick on the sides and back.
Any insights?
