Does anyone have experience with combining an oral 5a-reductase inhibitor with a topical 5a-reductase inhibitor? I don't know if there would be any legitimate science behind this... But perhaps when you combine, for example, oral finasteride and topical finasteride, would you get "double protection" to some extent?
Because I think studies showed that 5mg finasteride ED lowers scalp DHT only about 30-40% (can't remember the exact number but it's much lower than serum suppression) so perhaps also using topical finasteride alongside would lower scalp DHT some more as it is delivered exactly where it needs to be.
What are your thoughts? I was interested in maybe starting topical finasteride alongside oral dutasteride but I'm affraid that in the end, the topical finasteride is not going to do too much when already on dutasteride.
