Combing/ brushing hair

I have always had thick hair and it is difficult to style. In an attempt to remedy this situation, I comb it everyday with a fine-tooth comb. Considering that the hair grown with regaine is generally pretty flimsy, I'm sure that this is having an adverse affect on my hair.
Should I switch to using a wide-tooth comb? Or brushing my hair? I'm guessing straightening it is out of the question.

Greetings Plan C, To be clear are you guessing it's the hair comb that responsible for the "adverse effects" or the regain? I am sorry for my confusion. If your hair is thick and long a wide-tooth comb may prevent less breakage. Perhaps Golden Mane, when he's available can answer this more adequately insofar that he is the only member I'm familiar with who wears his hair long .Thanx for sharing.

My hair isn't particularly long. I'm suggesting that the fine-tooth comb I use is so fine that it removes weak hairs grown by regaine. My issue is not with regaine itself.
