I didn't know where to put this post so I put it here. Is it ok to use propecia and dutesteride/avodart together? I seem to get that they both block enzymes that form DHT but the dutasteride blocks both. Where's the best/ cheapest place I can get avodart or alikes?

No, not wise. "More" is not always better, and randomly stacking prescription medications is never a good idea. Go see your doctor.

the problem is that my derm is scheduling appts like 5 months from now and I don't think I can wait. I want to stop progression as i'm really self conscious...father is completely bald except around the sides and back of head. As of now, i'm on just propecia...stopped procerin yesterday and I want to do something fast. I started to diffuse all over like 5 days ago. I don't think it's shedding though cause I can't really pull a lot of hairs out and i don't notice much massive loss.

5 months? OK, but that's hard to believe. Tell his/her nurse that you need a referral to another derm that can see you next week.

well, insurance only cover the one i go to but i'm sure i can get an appt. I could get emotional or something. No, just i could probably work something out. I just gotta stop the progression but i think i'm gonna order the dutesteride just because it has a lot of support and good results it looks like.

That's your choice but I'd advise against it. You don't know me from Adam, so you probably don't care, but I hate to see guys throwing darts at the wall without medical supervision. No, I'm not a doctor. I just don't think it's a good idea to self-prescribe. Antiandrogens are not innocuous...and male pattern baldness is definitely an off-label use for dutasteride. Good luck to you.

If you're happy with keeping what you have, you probably won't have to do anything. The finasteride will likely keep you in a holding pattern. The other stuff in your current regimen is probably just lightening your wallet.

If you want to regrow, I'd drop everything in your regimen but the propecia - and add the one thing you don't want for whatever reason - minoxidil 5%, 2X per day as directed. I'd also add OTC Nizoral shampoo.

It's really not the terrible inconvenience some fear.
