Cognitive supplements for my 75 year old dad

So my father is showing some mild cognitive decline, some memory loss and even confusion and apathy on occasion. He's very stubborn and will refuse to see his family doctor until its much more serious. He's a diabetic, but it seems fairly well under control, his health otherwise is actually quite good, his diet is quite decent as well. He really dislikes taking a lot of pills and I know he'll refuse to take a bunch if I recommend them. So what I'm looking for is a supplement, preferably a powder, with a combination of neuroprotective and enhancing supplements.

Any suggestions on what I should be looking at?

low dose naltrexone and a shiteload of blueberries. get him to drink a shot of apple cider vinegar before each meal (helps with diabetes), add cinnamon to hot drinks, get some exercise and avoid bread and potato.

Is he taking any statins, such as Lipitor or Mevacor?

Firstly, make acetylcholinesterase inhibitors (Aricept, Namenda) your last resort, they just delay the inevitable. In fact, f#ck medical science, they'll only make the problem worse.

Otherwise, I KNOW from EXPERIENCE, a very unfortunate one with a happy ending, these supplements truly work. What you really want to do is build up levels of acetyl and phosphatidyl choline in the brain. The resulting brain function improvement could be actively demonstrated through PET imaging in only the first few weeks of supplementation. Trust.

Since these supplements are unpatentable, doctor$ never bother to recommend them. The top three, for starters?
Alpha GPC (direct precursor to acetylcholine)
phosphatidylserine
pregnenolone

The following should help indirectly:
acetyl-L-carnitine
CoQ10 or idebenone
alpha-lipoic-acid
ribose
magnesium
vitamin C
inosine

Especially the Alpha GPC, acetyl L-carnitine, pregnenolone can be easily placed in a drink. Check beyond-a-century.com and bulknutrition.com for the cheapest prices. Good luck.
